Creative South.

Our Projects

Die Laughing

Shuler King is a stand up comedian on the verge of his big break in Hollywood when his father has an accident, forcing Shuler to return home to Glory, South Carolina to run the family business – a funeral home. Waiting for him there are the headaches of the funeral business, the woman he never got over, and a dream of comedy success now deferred.

Trouble in Mind

This comedy-drama, planned for Broadway, was canceled when the playwright refused to tone down its message. Trouble in Mind finally made a triumphant Tony nominated premiere on Broadway in 2021. Although written by Alice Childress almost 70 years ago, the story is astoundingly and unfortunately even more relevant today, especially from this cinematic view.

My Partner Can’t Cook

One partner cooks. The other can't. Chef MJ helps them come together, one dish at a time. When two people blend their lives, they don't just bring love. They bring routines, upbringing, boundaries. Somehow, all of that shows up in the kitchen.

No Wave

Set in the racially divided South of the 1950s, an unexpected love story between a crusading African-American school teacher and a Chinese-American traveling salesman exposes the fault lines of identity, loyalty, and courage.

Hollywild Kidz

Hollywild Kidz is a wildly entertaining children’s series where live-action, animation, and unforgettable animal stars collide as a legendary Hollywood animal trainer, and a sarcastic monkey puppet lead young audiences through hilarious adventures, real-life animal behavior lessons, and behind-the-scenes learning fun from the world of wacky, wooly, and wonderful stars.

Cult

When Lisa, a documentary filmmaker, is invited to follow the self anointed guru, Dr. Harmony Light, and her devoted community, she expects to expose them as a sham. However, she soon discovers that truth is indeed stranger than fiction.

Can I Come In?

At the dawn of an apocalyptic event, as society and civility stand on the brink, an unwanted visitor knocks on the door where a group of displaced neighbors shelter together.

A. Price

A fast-paced global drama about Alexandria Price, a brilliant young doctor who trades privilege for service by enlisting with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. From hurricanes to wars, pandemics to political unrest, she confronts crises across the globe while uncovering long-buried secrets at home. A powerful story about what it truly costs to change the world.

Unapologetically
Carolina

An innovative docuseries spotlighting South Carolina’s influential native sons and daughters, exploring how their roots shaped their rise, and how they navigate the world’s perceptions of the South.

Douglass Family Lives

A limited series inspired by distinguished scholar Dr. Celeste-Marie Bernier’s forthcoming Douglass Family Lives collection. Featuring Frederick Douglass, the most photographed American of the 19th-century, and his extraordinary family, the series connects their legacy to today’s ongoing struggle for human rights and justice.
